Hot pavement in July, grit and road salt in January, gravel and broken glass all year round - a dog's pads take more than most owners notice. You usually find out about it when they start limping, or licking one paw raw on the carpet.
These are rubber-soled boots that go on before the walk. Four to a set, with a tread that grips wet tile and pavement, and a strap that keeps them on a dog who trots rather than walks.

How to use it
Measure your dog's paw at its widest point while they're standing, and check it against the sizing guide before ordering - boots that are too tight are the main reason dogs refuse to wear them. Let them wear the set indoors for a few short sessions first, with treats, before the first real walk. Fasten the strap snug but not tight.
Care and safety
Rinse off salt and mud after winter walks and air-dry. Check the paw each time you take them off. Don't leave boots on for long stretches or overnight, and don't use them on broken or irritated pads. If your dog is limping in them, stop and check the fit. For pet use only.
