Most dogs can swim. That's not the same as being safe in water. A tired dog in a current, a puppy who falls off a paddleboard, a senior whose back legs give out halfway across - those are the situations this is for.

The vest keeps your dog floating level rather than nose-down, which is what exhaustion does to a swimming dog. And the handle across the back means you can lift them straight out of the water and back onto a boat or a dock with one arm.

Who it's for

Boat trips, lake days, pool training, and beach swims. Also worth it for flat-faced breeds - pugs, bulldogs, frenchies - who are poor swimmers even in calm water, and for older dogs who tire fast.

Sizing

Measure your dog's chest at the widest point, just behind the front legs. Chest measurement matters more than weight - two dogs the same weight can need different sizes.

  • XS - small breeds and puppies
  • S - small to lower-medium
  • M - medium builds

Between sizes, go up. The straps adjust down but they can't add room.

How to fit it

Put it on dry first and adjust until two fingers fit under each strap. Let your dog wear it around the house for ten minutes before the first swim. Test in shallow water where they can stand, then move deeper.

Care and safety

A life jacket is not a substitute for supervision. Never leave a dog unattended in or near water, even wearing one. Check the straps and buckles before every use and replace the jacket if the foam compresses or the stitching frays. Rinse with fresh water after salt or chlorine and let it dry fully. For pet use only.
